Associate DP-600
Analytics cert for Microsoft Fabric — covering Lakehouses, Data Pipelines, Spark notebooks, DirectLake semantic models, and Power BI integration.
The Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600) is a modern analytics certification built around Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft's unified data platform that integrates Power BI, Data Factory, Synapse, and more into a single SaaS experience. It validates the ability to design and implement analytics solutions using Fabric's end-to-end capabilities.
The exam covers four domains: Plan, Implement, and Manage a Solution for Data Analytics (10–15%), Prepare and Serve Data (40–45%), Explore and Analyze Data (20–25%), and Implement and Manage Semantic Models (20–25%). Core Fabric components include OneLake, Lakehouses, Data Warehouses, Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, Spark notebooks, KQL Databases, Eventstreams, DirectLake semantic models, and Power BI for visualization. T-SQL, DAX, PySpark, and Power Query (M) are all used in the exam.
Launched in 2024, the DP-600 is one of the most current Azure data certifications and aligns with Microsoft's strategic direction for analytics. It is ideal for analytics engineers, BI developers, and data engineers who want to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Fabric and modern data lakehouse architectures.
Analytics engineers, BI developers, data engineers, and Power BI professionals adopting Microsoft Fabric.
Prerequisites: DP-900 and familiarity with Power BI or Azure Synapse recommended. Experience with SQL and data modeling concepts.
