About This Certification

The Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900) validates foundational knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts and how they are implemented using Microsoft Azure AI services. It is appropriate for both technical and non-technical candidates who want to demonstrate understanding of AI workloads and considerations.

The exam covers five areas: Describe AI Workloads and Considerations (20–25%), Describe Fundamental Principles of Machine Learning on Azure (25–30%), Describe Features of Computer Vision Workloads on Azure (15–20%), Describe Features of NLP Workloads on Azure (15–20%), and Describe Features of Generative AI Workloads on Azure (15–20%). Key services include Azure Machine Learning, Azure AI Vision, Azure AI Language, Azure OpenAI Service, and Azure AI Services (formerly Cognitive Services).

Note: Microsoft has announced the AI-900 exam is scheduled to retire on June 30, 2026. Candidates interested in Azure AI credentials should consider pursuing the AI-102 Azure AI Engineer Associate instead for a more durable and technical certification.
