Associate DP-100
Azure ML cert for data scientists using Azure Machine Learning to train, evaluate, and deploy models. Retiring June 2026.
The Microsoft Azure Data Scientist Associate (DP-100) validates the ability to apply data science and machine learning techniques to implement and run machine learning workloads using Azure Machine Learning. It targets data scientists who use Python, ML frameworks, and Azure ML to build, train, and deploy predictive models.
The exam covers four domains: Design and Prepare a Machine Learning Solution (20–25%), Explore Data and Train Models (35–40%), Prepare a Model for Deployment (20–25%), and Deploy and Retrain a Model (10–15%). Core tools include Azure Machine Learning Studio, Azure ML SDK v2, MLflow, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Jupyter notebooks. You must demonstrate proficiency in data preparation, feature engineering, model training, hyperparameter tuning, responsible AI, and deploying models as managed online endpoints.
Microsoft has announced the DP-100 will retire on June 1, 2026. Data scientists seeking a durable Azure ML credential should monitor Microsoft's announcements for the replacement certification path in the Azure AI engineering space.
Data scientists with Python experience who use Azure Machine Learning to develop, train, and deploy ML models.
Prerequisites: DP-900 and AZ-900 helpful. Proficiency in Python, familiarity with ML algorithms, and some hands-on experience with Azure ML.
